The cross-party parliamentary committee on welfare severely criticized Concentrix in 2016 for closing thousands of claimants’ claims improperly, depriving them of money for necessities.[13] According to a government report, 87% of the 36,000 appeals against Concentrix were upheld.[14] The contract was set to expire in 2017, and HMRC declared in September 2016 that it would not be renewed. Despite this, the Treasury has so far rejected calls for a thorough investigation.
